Oh the weather outside is frightful, but the fire at Angel Welcome Bed and Breakfast is so delightful – particularly when it’s flicking merrily during breakfast! Now through January 3, 2016, head to to the Maritime Museum in Sandusky, just 20 minutes from the inn, for Northern Lights & Winter Brights. Held from 5-10pm, the Sandusky Bay Pavilion & the Maritime Museum will be all “decked-out” in beautiful lights. The museum itself will also be decorated for the season, viewable during regular business hours.
Also in Sandusky, the Ghostly Manor Thrill Center exchanges it’s scares for oohs-and-ahs during the Christmas Light Show Spectacular. Tune your radio to 99.7 FM and drive along each night between now and December 31 from 6pm-midnight for an amazing light show with dancing lights tuned to the music on your radio!
Closer still is Huron, where you can enjoy the Firelands Festival of Lights each night from 5-10pm through December 31. It’s a drive-through light spectacular, and at the end, you might meet Mrs. Claus and the reindeer at the Candy Cane House!
If you want to travel up to an hour away – check out the Lights Before Christmas at the Toledo Zoo. From now through December 31st, except on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. The hours are Sunday – Thursday: 3 – 8 p.m. (Zoo closes at 9 p.m.) and Friday and Saturday: 3 – 9 p.m. (Zoo closes at 10 p.m.). You’ll be delighted by the nearly 70 miles of lights, live carolers, and DOuglas the Talking Fir Tree!
