Holiday Events In and Around Milan, Ohio

It's hard to believe that October is almost over and we will be jumping into the holiday scene with both feet so soon! Ohio is a great place to gear up for Thanksgiving and Christmas, Hanukkah, New Years and all the fun to be had during the festive season!

We like to kick off the holidays with a visit to the Naturally Country in Norwalk. Naturally Country is a wonderful store that defies description! You will glory in the custom floral arrangements, gifts for anyone on your list, creative decor, and more. This 5000 square foot oasis of pure shopping bliss, not to mention the amazing exterior delights, is a feast for the eyes and creative spirit. The Christmas Open House will run Friday, Saturday and Sunday, November 7-9 and
November 14-16 from 10am to 6pm.  There will be free refreshments, door prizes, and holiday ideas galore! Find the store just South of Milan and North of Norwalk, West of State Route 250.

Another fun event for children of all ages is the Cuyahoga Valley Scenic Railroad Polar Express! Based on the immensely popular children's book, the Polar Express departs from Rockside Station and Akron Northside Station. Boarding starts at 6pm, the train departs at 7pm for a two-hour roundtrip ride, returning around 9pm.  For weekend matinees in December, boarding starts at 11am, trains leave at 12 noon and return at 2pm.   You'll enjoy hot cocoa and a cookie while elves read the story on the way to the North Pole to pick up SANTA! Wear your jammies as you visit with that jolly old elf! Ticket must be purchased in advance at the website.

Just an hours' drive from Angel Welcome Bed and Breakfast, Cleveland offers many different holiday events. One fun day is Winterfest 2014 on Saturday, November 29 at PlayhouseSquare. Enjoy horse and carriage rides, live music, shopping, the first ever tree-lighting ceremony at PlayhouseSquare, a fireworks display and more! On December 7th, take part in the 21st Annual Holiday CircleFest. From 1-5:30pm, many of University Circle’s renowned museums, gardens, galleries, churches, and schools open their doors free of charge. Visitors can look forward to live performances from talented musicians, craft making, historic displays of holiday toys, storytelling, live animals, the city’s best gingerbread house competition, ice sculptures, ice skating, and horse-drawn carriage rides. From 5:30-6pm, the activities will conclude with The Cleveland Museum of Art’s dramatic Winter Lights Lantern Procession.

So many activities are in store to get you in the holiday mood! Make your reservations soon for the best festive season ever!
